STEWED PLUMS
Can something so delicious be so simple? It’s the slow cooking that brings out the flavour of the plums and apple juice and makes this a remarkably tasty dish. They're a great topping to porridge in the morning or for a naughty dessert drain any excess juice, mash them and stir in 200ml of whipped cream for a delicious Plum Fool.
Ingredients
- 200ml of any Cawston Press Apple Juice
- 6 red plums
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 125°C/250°F/Gas mark 1-2.
- Place the plums and apple juice in a small casserole dish with a lid or pop them in an overproof dish and cover tightly with foil.
- Cook overnight and serve with your breakfast for the perfect start to the day!
- Alternatively allow them to cool and serve as a dessert with Greek yogurt.
- Remember to remove the stones once they’re cooked.
- If time is off the essence you can turn up the temperature and cook them over a shorter period but they do taste better cooked slowly.
